The importance of follow up to new believers . . .

gv9

The crusade evangelist that we support do such an amazing job with following up with the many people that attend the events. Here is some great updates from Global Ventures on their recent trip to India:

India Report: Right after the trip, 11 Home Bible Studies were started and are ongoing! Four of our leaders stayed longer in country to train and help pastors follow up on the new believers. In the days following our event, they did home visits with those who had attended the festival. 24 pastors and leaders were trained in a conference we held, and 9 of them joined our leaders on home visits. They learned hands on how to evangelize and train new believers. As a result, 11 Home Bible Studies were started and are ongoing, using the 16-week New Believers Curriculum! Some of these Bible studies will become house churches. This is just the beginning because pastors are continuing to do home visits and start Bible studies. We are excited for the incredible work God has done and is doing in this region!!

India Report – Follow Up: Our GV Post team did home visits and met with some Festival prize winners. During their visit, they led many of their family and friends to Jesus! On their first day, they had scheduled 4 home visits but ended up in 8 homes with 18 people becoming believers. Many home Bible studies were scheduled for the local pastors. What a great win!!

India Report – Most Holy Moment: The follow up team piled up into a car and followed a long dusty narrow road to a remote village for more Home Visits. We were going to visit a young man who had won a prize at the GV family festival the week before. As we got out of the car, the man ran signaling many neighbors who seemed to appear from nowhere. Most were men. A few women and a couple of children who were not school age surrounded our little team bringing chairs and a charpai bed, so people could gather to talk. None of them had been to the festival except the prize winner; the young man in the cap. The simple Gospel was shared, which was unheard of and unknown to these Sikh families before now. It was a most holy moment to be amongst those who were part of the unreached and the untold, hearing the name of Jesus for the first time. The pastor presented a Bible to be kept in their home for the weekly meeting where he will teach these new believers using the GV New Believers Lesson series. Because of the secluded location and numbers of families represented, this home Bible study has the markings to become a thriving house church!
